Tips to Prevent a Costly Water Leak
Water Conservation Facts
How am I billed?
You are billed a minimum charge of $39.00 for the first 8,000 gallons.  Then, if you go OVER this minimum amount, you are billed $4.50 per 1,000 gallons.  You are billed quarterly (4 times per year).

How do you know how much water I have used?
We have meter readers who go around to all our customer's homes and read your meter.  You are billed in 1,000 gallon increments.  The number under the "Reading Per 1,000 gallons" is the thousand of gallons you have used.  For example, if your previous reading is 10 and your current reading is 20, you have a uage of 10,000 gallons.

How much does it cost to connect to Township water?
If the water line runs in front of your house, the connection fee is $2,015.00.  If an extension is required, the cost is an additional $15.00 per foot of pipe.  Please call the office for more information.

What happens if I don't pay my bill?
We will send you a "Delinquent Notice" which will remind you that you haven't paid your bill.  If you do not pay the delinquent amount, you will be sent a "Turn Off Notice."  Your water will NEVER be turned off with prior notification.  (We cannot control the postal system, however) If you receive a Delinquent Notice or Turn Off Notice, please call the office to make arrangements for paying your bill.  If you don't call, and we have to come out to your house, there will be a $20.00 charge even if we don't turn off your water.

What should I do if I believe my bill is too high?
If you think your bill is abnormally high, please call the office as soon as possible after receiving your bill.  We will send a meter reader out to your house to re-read your meter, and check for the possibility of a leak.

Am I responsible for my bill if I have a leak?
If the leak is on your side of the meter, then you are responsible for paying for the water lost due to the leak.

Which uses more water....a tub bath or a shower?
That depends.  How big is your tub?  How long do you take a shower?  How fast does the water come out of your showerhead?  Answer this question yourself -- close the drain in the tub and take a shower.  See if you get a tub full of water.  Oh...it is a good idea NOT to try this in a shower stall.
